Navalmal Firodia Law College [DES SNFLC], Pune Maharashtra was established in the year 1884 as Private Educational Institute to provide higher education to build a career in the field of Law. Eligibility
Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (10+2) or its equivalent with 45% marks.
There shall be relaxation of 5% marks in case of SC/ST students.
Applicants who have obtained 10+2 or graduation/post-graduation through open universities system, directly without having any basic qualification for prosecuting such studies are NOT ELIGIBLE for admission in law course.
Admission procedure
The candidates are required to fill an application form, mentioning their educational qualifications. The admission is based on the merit and interview results. For admission to the 5 Year Law Course the candidates must have secured at least 45% marks in their 10+2 exams or its equivalent exams. For the candidates belonging to S.C/S.T. the percentage requirement is reduced to 40% marks in the above mentioned exams.
What is moot court?
A moot court is a type of competition in which law students present their arguments on hypothetical cases. Arguments are usually presented in the form of oral submissions made before the judge in the form of an appeal. The teams have to analyse the given legal issues, research them, draft the memorial according to the guidelines and present their case before a judge or panel of judges.
Most of the skills developed while competing in a moot court competition will help in future law practice. Mooting helps in building confidence in talking and articulately presenting our views. All skills need the training to improve and it is natural to make mistakes in the initial stages even those mistakes will help give you pointers that you can improve from. Mooting aid in boosting a person’s confidence remarkably to the point that even as a fresher or junior lawyer you will not be intimidated to speak and effectively present your case in front of the judge and the opposing counsel.
Scope of Pursuing BBA LLB and BA LLB
The field of Law is not a discrete and stand-alone body of knowledge, and the practice of law also cannot be divorced from the practice of other disciplines. Law affects and is affected by other disciplines and other professions in many ways. BBA LLB is a one such unique and niche interdisciplinary program that has emerged in the last decade in response to fast-changing trends of the industry.
It provides an in-depth knowledge of commerce and business management, with intricate details of law and governance. Students gain valuable insights into both domains, management of business functions, including finance, marketing, human resource management, international business, and the legal policy & framework, including corporate laws in the fields of banking, investment, corporate governance, insurance, competition and acquisitions & mergers, etc, thereby facilitating a truly interdisciplinary approach to learning law.
Students can start their career just after completing their bachelor degree in LLB or after completing senior secondary education. After receiving a degree in the law field we can give them a title of a lawyer. Lots of dedication and hard both are required to become a successful lawyer. In India legal education has been offered as a degree of three years of graduate (LLB).
This rule was passed out in 1997. The first law University was the national law school of India University (NISIU) which was set up in Bangalore. The university offers students five years integrated law course in B.A LLB as an honours course.
